HIV SERVICES

 

Living Positive - Giving a Voice and Face to HIV/AIDS is a  television show that provides  a comprehensive perspective on issues, challenges and strengths experienced by the HIV/AIDS community of African and Caribbean descent in the United States and around the world.   The show provides a plethora of information and education to address the trends of the HIV/ AIDS prevalence.  The program is basically  a  gathering place where service providers clients, family and supporters meet to assess, improve and develop the necessary mutual understanding in conceptualizing care.

 

 
Living Positive is committed to educating people of African and Caribbean descent about HIV/AIDS in the United States and in the world.  The above is achieved with  3 programs: Condom Distribution, Community Educational Forums and a Television show, “Living Positive, Giving a voice and face to HIV/AIDS” .   

 

 

Living Positive - Giving a Voice and Face to HIV/AIDS” is hosted by individuals who are  HIV + whose sole goal in their community is to improve the health care delivery and address the myriad of psychosocial issues that impact this special needs population affected and infected by HIV/AIDS.  The show is  facilitated by hosts Michele Lopez and   Robert "Bobby" Tolbert.“Living Positive - Giving a Voice and Face to HIV/AIDS” is hosted by individuals who are  HIV + whose sole goal in their community is to improve the health care delivery and address the myriad of psychosocial issues that impact this special needs population affected and infected by HIV/AIDS.  The show is  facilitated by hosts Michele Lopez and   Robert "Bobby" Tolbert.
Michelle Lopez is a nationally known HIV+ advocate who willfully disclosed  her status to educate the African, Caribbean and Hispanic population about HIV/AIDS. Michelle is a dynamic educator with a special gift to connect with people that she meets in her daily world. As a co-host of  “Living Positive - Giving a Voice and Face to HIV/AIDS”,  she is not only giving a voice and face to  HIV, but is also a  symbol of inspiration in the field.  She has received countless awards for her outstanding dedication and advocacy in the struggle to educate and to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Robert "Bobby" Tolbert, a community activist and HIV + advocate, has engaged in numerous political events and has spoken to national audiences on the basic human rights. He is  a powerful educator utilizing his professional experience as an outreach worker in NYC shelter programs to educate the public.  He has participated in numerous political events, conferences and has vast knowledge of both   local and national organizations.  He has received various awards for his outstanding contribution and is always eager to assist his peers.
